Fine Continental Rococo style giltwood display bookcase, 19th c., three-part case surmounted by fanned foliate crests, with winged cherub masks above trompe de l'oeil drapery, fitted with open glass shelves and mirrored interior base panels, rising on shaped platform base, later exterior back panels, approx 100"h, 108"w, 25"d

02.09.26 - In my opinion regarding LOT: 3251, the cabinet presents as sturdy and impressive in form, the front and sides are fully open and it is unclear whether glass panels were originally present, the surface exhibits typical painted touchups, areas of paint wear, scattered chips to the gilding with exposed gesso, and expected small wood losses, most notably along protruding decorative elements, small restorations and visible seams are observed, the interior fabric shows minor imperfections including small picks, pinholes, and light discoloration or staining to the upholstered surfaces, the glass shelving appears intact with no apparent chips or cracks observed, the mirrored base exhibits minor wear consistent with age, all noted wear, restorations, and imperfections appear commensurate with the cabinet’s age, display and use
