- Lot Description
Flemish parcel-ebonized rosewood table cabinet, 18th c., hinged cover reversed by a flat mirror plate, silver (content unknown) reliefs of musical cherubs standing on the backs of dolphins, enclosing a shallow storage compartment, above a pair of paneled cabinet doors, mythological female figures painted on the reverse in the manner of Frans Wouters (1614-1659), interior fitted with nine drawers framing a cabinet door with an architectural facade, enclosing additional small drawers and a concealed compartment, a single exterior drawer below, on a molded plinth, approx 21"h, 20.5"w, 12"d, 34.5lbs

CR 8.19.25-In my opinion regarding LOT: 3383- I am not an expert on such pieces so have taken numerous images for your review, as described the cabinet is intact with restorations, I note general scattered wear, paint variation and minor losses, careful visual and UV light examinations reveal old varnish and some adhesive at trim and panels, the hinged top panel has a wood repair along the back edge of each hinge, doors and drawers open properly, I have included several images of drawers, some of trim is misaligned, interior top cabinet and lower drawer are retain a worn liner, painted panels appear overall intact, the one with figure pouring water has a small divot with exposed gesso, the other panel shows some possible inpainting/repair? in clouds at the upper panel, see images, the lift top panel is slightly raised, the cataloger noted that some of the interior mounts appear recast and are possibly/likely not silver, she also noted that the main cabinet and lowest drawers both have English Victorian locks, please see attached images for your review
