- Lot Description
French Louis XV style gilt-painted overmantel mirror, late 19th c., having scrolling foliate crest, above molded frame with floral motifs and rocaille trim, silver-gilt border, encasing flat mirror plate, some scattered areas of silver loss to mirror plate, approx 54.5"h, 29.5"w, 33lbs
Condition
9.25.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT: 3357 – the mirror was examined while hanging and hanging hardware may have been added post photography, the flat mirror plate is intact with only very light scattered spotted silver loss and slight hazing, there are no apparent chips or cracks to the plate, the frame exhibits typical scattered small losses to raised and protruding foliate elements, some hairlines in the finish and frame, with some small glue repairs, there is a noted small loss to the lower right foliate ornament, the painted surface shows typical variation in tone from touchups, overall wear is commensurate with age, use, and display
