French Louis XVI style mahogany commode, 20th c., having shaped marble top, above conforming case fitted with five drawers, flanked by fluted corner posts, rising on tapering fluted legs, ending on brass cap feet, approx 35"h, 48.25"w, 21"d
Condition
02.12.26: In my opinion regarding LOT 3310: Upon review with our clock specialist, we do not observe any marks on the movement, see attached for numerous images of the interior workings and movement, the clock is lacking the striker bell, although the striker arm operates as expected, the seconds subdial is lacking the hand and is without connection to the movement, the hour cable appears to be wrapped incorrectly around the cable drum and as such we are not able to determine the operational status of the clock, the pendulum appears to be replaced and does not sit correctly, from a physical examination of the case, I note that the lacquered finish exhibits typical surface wear commensurate with age and use such as areas of loss, rubs, and inpainted touch-ups, the side panels of the bonnet exhibit typical stable separation, which is overall minor, and the glass is free from observed hairlines/ fractures and visible chipping, the clock face with tarnish and patination of the metal elements
