- Lot Description
French Louis XVI style paint-decorated corner cabinet, early 20th c., molded cornice with ribbon twist trim, hung with floral giltwood swags, angled back encasing four plat mirror plates, with small glass shelf, over inset marble top, caned lower body and medial shelf, fluted front supports ending on turned feet, some silver loss to mirror plate, crest with loss of top, small wood losses, approx 66"h, 25.75"w, 17.5"d
Condition
9.25.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT: 3086 – the structure is stable and in sturdy condition, the painted surfaces show overall distressing and paint loss, wood is typical wear with scattered small nicks and minor wood losses, including one at the upper left corner and another at the crest of the swag, please refer to the additional images for details, the mirror plates are intact and free of chips or cracks though they exhibit slight hazing and a few minute spots of silver loss, with more visible hazing and silver loss concentrated along the left edge of the lowest plate, the glass shelf has very minute corner chipping that is concealed when resting within the frame, marble is intact with some staining/discoloration, general light surface wear and a few stable hairlines, I note scattered traces of old woodworm primarily to the lower legs, all issues noted are consistent with age, use, and origin
