- Lot Description
French bronze dore and champleve enamel mantel clock, retailed by Tiffany and Company, New York, late 19th c., having turned-form finials surmounting stepped rectangular case, with polychrome champleve scrollwork, central white dial marked Tiffany & Co./ New York, with Roman numeral hour markers and Arabic minute markers, time-and-strike movement marked Tiffany & Co. New York, rising on tapering feet, accompanied by pendulum and key, observed operating, appears to be wound tight, approx 10.75"h, 6"w, 5.25"d, 6.25lbs
Condition
CR 5.28.25-As mentioned in the catalog description, the movement was observed operating but appears to be wound tight, as it is somewhat difficult to wind. The bell, key, and pendulum are all present, and the suspension spring is intact. The bell resounds nicely when manually struck with the striker. In my opinion, the case is in overall good condition, with typical light patination and spotting to the metal commensurate with age. As with all of our antique clocks, this piece would likely benefit from a professional adjustment and a thorough cleaning of the movement.
