French Provincial Louis XV style carved walnut wedding armoire, 19th c., arched cornice, above a carved frieze with basket of flowers and grapevines, pair of large scroll panel cabinet doors on exterior hinges, stamped brass escutcheons, scalloped apron, on short cabriole legs, approx 94.5"h, 57.25"w, 25.5"d
Condition
07.03.25: In my opinion regarding LOT 3359: I note that the armoire stands sturdy and appears structurally secure throughout, having some typical light tonal variations, and an overall well-retained, rich finish, with some scattered minor fills, and small minor splits appearing stable, this minor wear is typical and commensurate with age, there is evidence of old woodworm associated with origin, and a minor repair at the front left corner of the cornice that has some slightly visible adhesive residue, the brass escutcheons with light patination and remaining securely mounted, the armoire retains a very specific key associated with the lock plate, operating smoothly, the interior shelf appearing sturdy, there is scattered minor surface wear such as small minor chips, abrasions, and scuffs commensurate with age and use
