Framed oil on canvas painting, Pastoral landscape with wheat fields, apparently unsigned, likely French or Belgian school, illegible inscription in French at frame verso, frame and stretcher with black ink stamps "made in Belgium," sight: approx 15.25"h, 15.25"w, overall: 21.75"h, 21.75"w, 4.25lbs
Condition
CR 8.20.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT 2157: I note that the canvas is remains secure within framing, the canvas is overall taut and free from observed tearing or holes, UV light examination does not reveal evidence of restoration, the pigment is overall well-retained with minor craquelure throughout, I observe a few minute, pin-head size flaked losses (only visible from an up-close perspective, see images) at the lower left corner, the top left corner with a small air bubble, the painting would likely benefit from a professional cleaning to resolve any lingering surface grime commensurate with age, the frame is structurally secure with tonal variations of the gilded finish such as rubs and spotting, and a couple small minor chips, all being commensurate with use/ display, please see attached images for reference
