English Georgian figured walnut fall-front secretary bureau/ escritoire, 18th c., having stepped cornice, above fall-front cabinet, revealing interior gallery and inset writing surface, lower case fitted with four drawers, on bracket feet, approx 63.5"h, 41.5"w, 18"d
Condition
09/08/2026: In my opinion regarding LOT : 2208- please pardon my images, the cabinet is in a very dark and cramped area of the gallery, I used both flash and no flash, the cabinet exhibits age and restoration, with typical losses, repairs, imperfections, stable splits to panels and drawers, top trim shows visible pieced seams, as pictured, drawer fronts show some scattered areas of small veneer loss, drawers slide well, interior bottom panels are stable with some gapping visible, the fall front panel shows stable splits and seams, it is slightly bowed with age, however the lock catches and operates, it opens to a well fitted interior with worn leather surface, the patina overall is warm, tonal and well figured, the case exhibits age and use
