Italian bronze dore and micromosaic-inlaid three-tier vanity or dressing table, 19th c., having adjustable beveled mirror plate with enameled trim, flanked by fluted columnar supports, each issuing scrolled arm terminating on flared bobeche, rectangular table with malachite inlay, centering micromosaic plaque, depicting a Roman fountain with the Colosseum and Saint Peter's Basilica in the background, hinged top revealing lined interior, rising on turned-form legs, joined by two glass tiers, ending on castors, approx 53"h, 15.5"w, 11"d
CR 8.29.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT: 3280 – the structure is overall intact, the beveled mirror plate is free of apparent chips or cracks, the enamel accented surround shows small areas of wear and loss with scattered filled repairs and inpainting, the metal exhibits spotting, patination, rubs, and mellowing, I am not an expert on micromosaics though the inlaid panel is overall intact, the beveled corners are visible, see images, I am unsure if the panel is original to the piece, it fits well, the upper right corner shows a small chip, the plaque is securely encased within the lid and the mosaic itself is slightly raised, inlays are largely intact with a UV light examination revealing only a few small typical losses and adhesive, the malachite trim and panels display natural characteristics, I note visible seams, areas of filled concealment and inpainting, the lift top is securely attached and opens smoothly, the lower mirrors are intact with no chips or cracks, overall the piece presents well
