Japanese Kodachi short sword having a 19.25"l curved blade with hamon visible at both sides, a steel or iron tsuba retaining two or three miniscule gilt marks at the blade side, possibly signature of Bishu Osafune Norimitsu, a family of makers in the Osafune Prefecture, Japan, active 13th to 17th c., see NOTE below, the two hole nakago having kanji characters at both sides, the wood handle with silk wrap fabric over rayskin and has only a single mekugi-ana or hole, comes with a black lacquered scabbard in poor condition with splits and finish loss, he blade edge with no visible nicks but some roughness, for shipping overall approx.26.25"l, 1.60lbs ***NOTE: possible translation of characters--Bishu Osafune Norimitsu, a family of makers in the Osafune Prefecture, Japan, active 13th to 17th c.*** We are not experts on Japanese swords.
