- Lot Description
Large Sevres-style porcelain vase and cover, baluster-form vase flanked by ormolu satyr's head handles, painted with a flute player and a singer in a pastoral landscape, artist signed H. Poitevin, a bouquet of flowers to the reverse, reserved on the turquoise-blue ground, on an ormolu base, cover with spurious interlaced Ls to the underside, stem and cover (at underside of finial) intact with professional restoration visible under UV light, approx 23"h, 12.5"w, 10"d, 20.5lbs
Condition
CR 8.19.25-In my opinion regarding LOT: 3031- as described there is professional restoration (to the lid at knop and to the stem at base, the vase and cover are overall intact and stand sturdy, glit mounts remain present and securely attached, they exhibit some typical spotting, patination, mellowing and light rubs, painted surfaces show only sparse and minor wear, rubs and paint loss, this is mostly contained to the gilt accents, no chips or cracks observed
