- Lot Description
Venetian style silver gilt chair, modeled as an ostrich, removable leather cushion nested on plume of tail feathers, on naturalistic base, approx 36"h, 29"w, 21"d, seat height: 22"h
Condition
CR 8.27.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT 3303: I note that the chair is structurally sturdy and solid, with the cushion fitting comfortably within the frame and retaining well-formed cushioning, the upholstery with some light, minor spotting commensurate with use. The silver-gilt finish is overall well-retained, with typical minor rubs concentrated to high points of the feathers, and tonal variations associated with patination. I do not currently observe notable losses or chips, having only a very sparse number of small nicks and abrasions commensurate with use. There are minute seams encircling the lower legs, which do not appear restored upon UV light examination, possibly being related to joinery, both remaining secure and sturdy
