This work has only recently been rediscovered and is now being introduced to the market. It has been submitted to the forthcoming Willard Leroy Metcalf Catalogue Raisonné Project, under the direction of Betty Krulik, with Dr. Lisa N. Peters and Deborah Spanierman. According to the present owners, the painting was discovered in 1980 by the purchasers of the historic residence known as “Old Battery,” Tucker’s Town, Bermuda. The house was originally built in the early 1920s by noted golf course designer and architect Charles Blair Macdonald (1855–1939). Research into the ownership of Old Battery between Macdonald’s death in 1939 and its purchase in 1980 is ongoing.

After Barridoff receives the release, Barridoff will coordinate the details of pick-up with the third party or designated shipper. Buyer will receive an email confirmation when the item(s) has been retrieved.
