Antique American Waltham pocket watch – 14K gold – C.W.C. Co. case – safety barrel movement – collectible vintage timepiece.
For sale is an exquisite American Waltham Watch Co. pocket watch, housed in a beautifully polished 14K solid gold case manufactured by C.W.C. Co. (Canadian Watch Case Company), marked “C.W.C. Co., Trade Mark” and numbered 203912. This elegant early 20th-century piece exemplifies the refined engineering and design that made Waltham a cornerstone of American horology.
The white enamel dial features Roman numerals, a sub-seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and blued-steel spade hands. The dial remains in fine condition with minor hairlines consistent with age.
Inside, the manual wind mechanical movement is signed “American Waltham Watch Co.” and bears the serial number 8722175, corresponding to a production period of circa 1898–1900. The movement is marked “Safety Barrel” and decorated with intricate damaskeening, showcasing Waltham’s precision and artistry.
The case opens cleanly and closes securely, showing only gentle wear to the gold surfaces. The watch winds and sets properly; running condition has not been tested and it is offered as-is.
Antique 14K gold Waltham pocket watches are prized by collectors for their craftsmanship and gold content. Comparable examples typically sell between $500–$850, depending on weight, condition, and originality.
Given its solid 14K gold case, clean movement, and historical integrity, this example is valued around $725.
Offered for sale as-is, this timeless Waltham exemplifies late 19th-century American watchmaking at its finest — a beautiful collectible piece of horological history.
