Watch winds and sets properly but is untested for timekeeping, offered as-is.
Antique Elgin pocket watch – gold-accented dial – B&B Royal 20-year case – early 1900s American timepiece.
For sale is a beautifully detailed antique Elgin National Watch Co. pocket watch, featuring a striking gold-accented dial and a B&B Royal 20-Year gold-filled case. This elegant timepiece showcases Elgin’s renowned precision craftsmanship, combining mechanical excellence with ornate design.
The dial features Roman numerals framed in gold-trimmed cartouches, gilt dot hour markers, and finely shaped black spade-and-whip hands. A sub-seconds dial sits gracefully at the 6 o’clock position, adding to its vintage character. The dial is clean and highly attractive with minimal age-related wear.
The manual wind movement is marked “Elgin Nat’l Watch Co., U.S.A.” and bears the serial number 26376292, dating production to approximately 1923. The movement exhibits detailed damaskeening and precision engineering — hallmarks of Elgin’s early 20th-century designs.
The watch is housed in a B&B Royal 20-Year gold-filled case, marked with serial number 6347144, offering durability and a refined golden tone. The case opens and closes smoothly and retains a fine, warm patina consistent with careful preservation. The watch winds and sets properly, though running condition has not been tested and it is offered as-is.
Elgin watches from this era, especially those featuring ornate dials and gold-filled B&B Royal cases, are highly collectible. Comparable examples generally sell between $300–$550, depending on case wear and mechanical condition.
Given this watch’s crisp movement, distinctive gold-accented dial, and well-preserved case, it is valued around $475.
Offered for sale as-is, this Elgin represents a fine example of American watchmaking artistry — both visually elegant and mechanically sophisticated.
