Antique T.J. Dale pocket watch – 14K solid gold case – fine American craftsmanship – early 1900s collectible timepiece.
For sale is a beautifully preserved antique T.J. Dale pocket watch, housed in a solid 14K yellow gold case with elegant period detailing. This piece showcases the refinement and understated style of turn-of-the-century American horology, likely produced in the early 1900s when bespoke private-label watches were crafted in small runs by established makers for jewelers such as T.J. Dale.
The white enamel dial features black Arabic numerals, red 5-minute markers, and a sub-seconds register at 6 o’clock, complemented by blued-steel spade hands. The dial maintains its clean, classic appearance with only light patina consistent with age, giving it both vintage authenticity and collector appeal.
Inside, the manual wind movement is marked with serial number 1300411, and displays fine damaskeening, bright blued screws, and a high-grade finish, indicative of precision American manufacturing from the early 20th century. The watch was most likely commissioned as a private-label piece by T.J. Dale Jewelers, a common practice of the era, with top-quality movements encased in custom gold cases.
The case is a solid 14K gold example with a smooth, polished finish and a hinged cover that opens and closes securely. Its interior bears the proper 14K hallmark and corresponding serial number 1300411, confirming authenticity. The gold retains a warm, even tone and subtle age character without excessive wear or dents.
This watch winds and sets properly; running condition has not been tested, and it is offered as-is.
Private-label 14K solid gold pocket watches, particularly those produced for jewelers like T.J. Dale, are highly collectible for their rarity and craftsmanship. Comparable 14K solid gold examples from the same period typically realize between $800–$1,200, depending on case weight and mechanical condition.
Given its fine aesthetic, clean dial, and genuine 14K gold case, this example is valued around $950.
Offered for sale as-is, this elegant T.J. Dale 14K gold pocket watch embodies the quality and timeless charm of early American watchmaking — a refined collectible for enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.
