Vanity and stool, from the Argyle Hotel, Los Angeles, ca. 1929
Amboyna, embossed leather, painted wood, mirrored glass, lacquered metal, plastic laminate.Vanity: 38.5" H x 35.25" W x 18.5" D
Stool: 23" H x 23.5" W x 11.25" DThe Argylie Hotel has since been known as The St. James's Club and The Sunset Tower Hotel.
Condition
Good overall condition. Light wear throughout, consistent with age and use. Areas of minor seam and grain separation throughout, all of which is stable. Silver-painted trim along the top edge with moderate finish loss. Leather top has some silvering missing as well as occasional scratches or scuffing. Trim around the base of the stool appears to be replaced.
