U.S. FIM-43 "Redeye" man-portable air defense system (MANPADS), designed in the 1950s and fielded beginning in the 1960s. Dated with a marker 3/27/69. It was the Vietnam War era predecessor to the FIM-92 "Stinger" missile. Shoulder-fired, infrared-guided surface-to-air missile system used by the U.S. Army and allied forces during the Cold War. Approximate measurements: 49" x 14" x 10" and 8-10 pounds. To be clear, this device is not a weapon -- it's a large tube with a scope and a handle. It cannot be made to fire, nor can it be restored to functioning condition. There are no electronic components in it and no wiring. Battery contact rod has been removed. According to the ATF, it is legal to own a spent launcher (provided it cannot be made to fire). Even so, there are undoubtedly U.S. states to which we cannot ship this item. Please make certain before bidding that you're permitted by your state and/or local area to receive it. Just on principle, we won't ship this internationally. This item will need to be shipped by a packing company of your choice. We maintain a list of reliable shippers, or you may choose your own.
See images. Completely non-functioning and not repairable. No internal wiring or electronic components. Cosmetically good -- a nice addition to a man cave -- with some cloudiness of the left eye shield. Scope is fairly clear. A circa 1970s "Bekins" moving tag is stuck to side of barrel. We're leaving it there.
Shipping: Each auction item notes in its catalog description whether it can be shipped in-house or will require 3rd party shipping by your own arrangements.
*For many small items, we provide in-house packing and shipping via UPS and USPS that is done with excellence and is competitively priced. We are using new shipping software, Shipping Saint by Blackwell Auctions, that better allows us to provide you with real-time updates and tracking. Once your initial invoice is paid, our shipping department will prepare your package and send you an invoice for shipping costs. Your invoice will indicate if we’re able to ship your item, and you are also welcome to contact local third-party shippers or make your own arrangements for pickup or shipping. Items that can be shipped in-house are noted in the catalog. Please see the Terms page on our website for more information on shipping carriers’ insurance policies.
*International buyers:
Buyers are responsible to ensure the item(s) is/are legal to import into their country, prospective purchasers should familiarize themselves with all local customs regulations, restrictions, and import laws. This may affect the ability to receive your item/s. We are not liable for items seized or denied entry by customs authorities. No refunds will be issued for items returned or confiscated due to import restrictions.
*Some items must be shipped by your own arrangements — you will need to contact vendors directly for quotes and to make arrangements, and you will pay them directly. Items that require 3rd party shipping by your own arrangements are noted in the catalog. As a courtesy, we provide a resource list for you, below.
*Purchases left at the gallery 30 days after the auction will be considered abandoned and will become the property of Blackwell Auctions, with no refund given.
As a courtesy, we provide this resource list for you when making your own shipping arrangements, but you may use any vendor you wish. Your transaction with any 3rd party shipper is entirely between you and the shipper. We are not responsible for fees, handling, timeline, insurance, damage claims or any other part of the transaction with the shipper you choose. Once your items are removed from our gallery, your transaction with us is complete.

Additional Terms Regarding Shipping Insurance:
Shipping insurance is regulated through Shipping Saint, our post-auction software solution. In the result of lost or damaged items, please alert Blackwell Auctions so that a claim link can be sent to you through Shipping Saint's software. Claims must be filed directly with Shipping Saint, and not solely the carrier (UPS, USPS, FedEx, etc.) to receive a pay-out. Claims must be filed with Shipping Saint within 60 days of the delivery date of the package as determined by the tracking number. Insurance returns on item(s) are assessed per order based on the purchase price and if the claim payment is for repair or reimbursement. Claims payments, both partial and full, may require that the item be returned to Shipping Saint with a provided label. Further questions regarding Shipping Saint insurance can be made to claim@shippingsaint.com AFTER a claim has been submitted.
USPS packages can be insured up to 5,000USD and FedEx and UPS packages to 50,000USD. If your won item(s) exceed these values, additional coverage will be assessed between Blackwell Auctions and the Shipping Saint Team. Valuable packages may require the purchase of an Express shipping rate to limit the amount of time in transit and as well as an adult signature upon delivery (21 or older).
On international shipments, the buyer or consignee is responsible for paying all duties, taxes, customs & carrier brokerage fees due upon delivery or entry into your country. Your country's customs may not release the package for delivery until payment is made. Usually, the fees are based on the declared value and nature of the item. Blackwell Auctions uses the purchase price as the declared value on any customs declarations, we will not understate the value of the item. Buyers are responsible for understanding and complying with their own country’s laws and regulations regarding the importation of items. Blackwell Auctions, located in Florida, USA, will not be held liable for any shipments that are delayed, denied, seized, or returned due to customs restrictions, import regulations, or prohibited items in the destination country.
It is the buyer’s responsibility to confirm whether an item is permitted for import before placing a bid.
Regardless of the carrier's limits, Shipping Saint must receive a claim with our form within 60 days of delivery.
