Carved stone sculpture titled “Shaman” by Inuit artist Abraham Anghik Ruben. The piece depicts a shaman figure in a crouched position, holding a drum in one hand and a drumstick in the other, with a detachable bird-form mask that fits to the front of the hooded face. The sculpture is carved from mottled tan-green stone with natural veining and includes separate carved components for the mask, drum, and drumstick. The mask, drum, and drumstick are all removable. The underside of the base shows surface wear and scratching from display. Sculpture is in good condition. Please see photos for additional details. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Abraham Anghik Ruben (born 1951) is a celebrated Inuvialuk sculptor known for his distinctive stone and bronze works exploring Inuit history, spirituality, and Norse-Inuit cultural connections. Raised in Paulatuk, Northwest Territories, he has exhibited internationally, and his work is held in major museum collections, including the National Gallery of Canada. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Most items are eligible for in-house shipping. A separate shipping invoice will be sent within 5 business days of the auction close. Large, heavy, fragile, or high-value items will receive a UPS shipping quote. Buyers may request a list of recommended third-party shippers if preferred. All shipping costs are non-refundable. Local pickup is available by appointment at our Ferndale, Michigan facility. Pickup or shipping must be scheduled within 15 business days of the invoice date to avoid storage fees.
