Chinese embroidered silk panel features three roundels depicting phoenixes worked in multicolored silk thread on a black ground. The phoenix, traditionally associated with grace, virtue, and high female tank within the Qing court, is surrounded by scrolling blossoms, foliage, and auspicious birds. The outer border is decorated with dense floral embroidery, adding detail and balance to the composition. The panel has been professionally framed and mounted under UV-protective glass with damage to the glass in the corner.
