Carved green serpentine dancing bear with dark veining and a polished surface, shown in a balanced pose with one foot raised and incised, darkened claws to forepaws. Sculpture is in good condition.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Isaaci Petaulassie (born 1958) is an Inuit carver from Cape Dorset, known for his stone sculptures depicting Arctic wildlife and traditional Inuit themes. His work has appeared in annual Cape Dorset collections and is recognized for its expressive forms and strong sense of movement. Please see photos for additional details. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Most items are eligible for in-house shipping. A separate shipping invoice will be sent within 5 business days of the auction close. Large, heavy, fragile, or high-value items will receive a UPS shipping quote. Buyers may request a list of recommended third-party shippers if preferred. All shipping costs are non-refundable. Local pickup is available by appointment at our Ferndale, Michigan facility. Pickup or shipping must be scheduled within 15 business days of the invoice date to avoid storage fees.
