An envelope with a beautifully engraved logo of The Associated Press in the upper left corner, post marked August 1, 1902, with a 2 cent Washington stamp believed to be Scott 279 BK.
The envelope is addressed to Dr R. R. Murray of Powder Springs, Georgia. Robert Rootes Murray (1836-1909) was a Confederate surgeon who settled in Powder Springs where he held medical practice.
