This Royal Worcester blush ivory chocolate pot is a splendid example of the famous company's porcelains, and particularly the Blush Ivory line heavily influenced by the Art Nouveau movement. Employing top tier painters, the company made this pot shine with its brilliant pink flowers dancing with subtle gold highlights, the ribbing encircling the lid, neck, and base, and the gorgeous gold roping around the lower portion of the pear shaped body. The strap handle alternates with ivory and gold enamel. But the greatest glory of this masterpiece is the figural bust of either a goddess - or could it be Boudica? Blush Ivory was already an expensive production, but the addition of the figural bust and gilding make it a rarity. This coffee pot dates to c. 1890.
