A fine French gilt brass mantel clock retailed by Tiffany & Co. dating to c. 1900. Case: the arched rectangular case with molded arched top inset with a bevelled glazed aperture over panels adorned with hand-painted floral motifs and a romantic pastoral scene, the upper centre with convex white enamel dial with painted floral garlands, black Arabic numerals, and ornate pierced brass hands, beneath aplain glazed bezel, the rear door with bevelled opaque glass, on a straight molded ogee base with bun feet. Movement: eight-day spring driven twin train movement striking the hours and half-hours on a blued steel gong MarksDial with remnants of Tiffany & Co. signature Backplate stamped: A.1 TIFFANY & CO Japy Frères MADE IN FRANCE 5072 4. 11
