- Lot Description
The Life of a Fireman was one of Currier and Ives most successful prints. Debuting in 1854 as the work of Louis Maurer as two prints, Currier and Ives added 2 more. The enduring success of the series led the firm to republish them in 1880s, to which period this print belongs.
The night alarm. "Start her lively boys." reads the inscription. No doubt Currier's and Ives' volunteer firemen work contributed to the interest in these fantastic prints. Ours is framed and glazed, the old pine frame adding to the warmth and charm.

We ship USPS by default. If dimensions exceed its limits, we will ship via FedEx. If it is not available, we will use UShip. In exceptional cases, we will use specialized art carrier firms.
Some items will require a foam lined box to travel safely. In such cases, a surcharge of 75 - 400 USD would be required. This surcharge would be eligible for a partial refund of 50 - 350 USD if the box is returned in good condition. We will indicate this requirement in the listing.
Customers may opt out of special packaging but also agree to accept the risks.
If special packaging or carriers (i.e. non USPS/non FedEx) are required, delays in shipping may be incurred.
Let us know if you require a signature for delivery. Customers may always request special packaging for shipment. We are happy to provide a quote in such cases.
All packages are insured for hammer price plus buyer's premium.

Bonn Auctions normally ships all online auction lots via United States Postal Service Priority Mail. Exceptions will be noted in the lot listing. Customers are charged for shipping, handling, and insurance, which is a bargain for the amount of care we put into safely packaging your purchases. We pay for the boxes and packaging.
