This book is important in 2 ways - 1. It is a landmark study of a somewhat obscure aspect of English pottery making which has been preserved by an expert ceramicist, Louis Salon 2. It is signed by the author and illustrator himself, and is more than likely the only version so treated.
Beyond that, Salon himself was an important artist for he was art director at Mintons, and is also credited in his Wikipedia entry as the inventor of the pate-sur-pate technique whose examples are so treasured today.
Each of the 250 copies of the book is detailed in an appendix to the book. Salon addressed the inscription , H. H. Edmondson with kinds regards. L. Salon
