- Lot Description
A fine vintage bronze of St. George Killing the Dragon, a myth with Christian and pre-Christian antecedents. This bronze vividly depicts George stomping the winged dragon with his horse, and raising the mortal blow with his sword. Signed Barye though this model differs somewhat from the version produced by the great bronzist Antoine-Louis Barye. We date this version to the 20th C.
