UNITED STATES, CIRCA 1800 A rare historic kerchief textile depicting the death of General Washington manufactured by Pember and Luzarder of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The kerchief was modeled after an engraving by Amos Doolittle (1754-1832) depicting Washington on his deathbed alongside his two doctors and Martha Washington. The central scene is surrounded by six large cartouches with text praising Washington for his service as general and president. Approx. 19" by 22", linen back matting 22" by 25"
