Clock consists of a rock crystal bangle embellished dial flanked by finely carved and opposing green and russet jade birds each clenching a branch with two peaches. The bronze base is intricately chased with an acanthus leaf and lotus flower design. It is most likely that the jade birds far predate the construction of the clock, a beautiful object of virtue.
