GERMANY, EARLY 20TH CENTURY A pair of German Meissen porcelain models of citron-crested companion cockatoos. Each bird is naturalistically modeled perched on a tree trunk decorated with green foliage and blue and purple flowers. The cockatoos share opposed positions each with a vibrant citron crest. Each cockatoo bears the under glaze blue crossed sword Meissen mark, one incised "57A", the other "57B", each with additional incised numerals. Female measures 10 1/4" tall and male 9 1/2" tall
The tip of the left inner toe nail on the female cockatoo has been professionally restored seamlessly. Otherwise very good original condition.
