.54 caliber, 28 in. octagonal barrel, round for 4-1/4 in. at muzzle with barrel lug to accommodate a socket bayonet, blade front sight, with curved adjustable rear sight, encircled Belgian proof mark "E / LG / star" under rear sight on barrel flat, indiscernible markings to barrel flat at breech, lock plate marked with "..861.." and a stamped "Austrian Eagle" behind cock, two screw side plate, possible proof markings under butt stock between swivel and trigger guard, iron furniture, comb plate marked " VII L.V.I. / 7611", steel ramrod, 43-1/4 in overall

Note: These particular rifles were used extensively by Austrian light infantry units, specifically the Habsburg army units, proving to be very effective in forested and mountainous terrain they were imported during the civil war and and used in both the Union and Confederate armies.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
