circa 1858, six shot .44 caliber, serial number 17582 stamped on four places under the frame, the cylinder, and loading lever, 7582 on barrel wedge, 7-1/2 in. octagonal to round barrel stamped "ADDRESS SAMl COLT NEW-YORK CITY", blade front sight, flip up rear sight dovetailed into factory stamp, left side of frame stamped with three line "COLTS, PATENT, U.S.", brass trigger guard with "I" stamp, iron backstrap, walnut grips, third type shoulder stock, stamped 17529 and 17530 under stock and on top of the butt plate, faint cartouche on right side of stock, saddle ring on stock tang, 27-1/4 in. overall

Note: This revolver was one of approximately 10,500 revolvers made from 1851 - 1861, that was factory cut to accommodate a shoulder stock, this particular shoulder stock was not the one numbered to match the gun.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
