possibly Late Period (653–332 BCE), wood and cartonnage mummy head and upper torso, face with white ground, black painted eyes in typical fashion, blue headdress with winged decoration, red accent to edges of headdress, red, white, blue, and black decoration along top edge, red and blue bovine figures at base below headdress, holes and peg remnants throughout, 26 x 21 x 6 in., mounted on modern acrylic and metal stand, with stand 29 1/2 x 23 x 7 in.
Provenance: Samuel Haddad, New York, New York, circa 1974; Estate of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd S. Lloyds, Manhattan, New York and Palm Beach, Florida, purchased circa early to mid 1970s, accompanied by the Samuel Haddad certificate; By descent in family
Note: Accompanied by a signed note of authentication from Samuel Haddad Works of Art stating "Samuel Haddad, works of art, certifies this object to be: Ca. 625-325 BC Wood Sarcophagus Mask." Likely acquired by Haddad from Anwar Sadat in the early 1970s.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
