mid 20th century, oak frames, green upholstered seats, 32-1/2 x 21-3/4 x 18 in.
Provenance: Scott Elliott, Howard Anthony House, Benton Harbor, Michigan, 2003; Private Collection
Note: This form is a variant of the seating designed for Taliesin II in 1925 and the Herman T. Mossberg House in 1948. While this specific chair form was specified in the design documents for the Howard Anthony Residence (1949), these examples were executed in oak by a subsequent owner following Mr. Anthony’s death in 1954. Based on construction and wear, they are dated between 1955-1975. The chairs were acquired in 2003 from Scott Elliott, former owner of the Howard Anthony Residence and proprietor of Kelmscott Gallery, Chicago. The chairs were structurally refurbished in 2004, though the finish and upholstery remain original to the time of their mid-century construction.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
