The lots on offer are a single owner collection of museum quality New York, Boston, Philadelphia, and Baltimore furniture, important Hudson River School paintings, and the finest examples of complementary decorative arts, all from Iris Court in Moultrie, Georgia. circa 1808, finely hand painted and gilt, the center with an Acraea violarum butterfly atop light blue ground, surrounded by bands of floral wreath and gilt, the rim with gilt foliage atop red orange ground, the base marked "M.Imp.le de Sevres 8", 1-1/4 x 9-1/4 x 9-1/4 in.

Note: These plates belong to an over 270 piece dessert service ordered for Napoleon I at the chateau de Compiegne but delivered to Fontainebleau, on October 11, 1809.
A portion of this service was sold at Christies, New York, The Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller: English & European Furniture, Ceramics and Decorations, Part I, May 9, 2018, Lot 118 for $1,812,500.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
