- Lot Description
A beautiful example of Mexican artisan metalwork, this sculptural angel candle holder was crafted by the legendary Los Castillo workshop in Taxco, Mexico. Made from solid brass with a gleaming silver-plated finish, the piece features graceful, stylized wings intricately inlaid with malachite and lapis lazuli in mosaic form—a hallmark of Mexican modernist design.
The angel figure is rendered in a minimalist yet expressive silhouette, wearing a stylized helmet and cloak while holding a single candle cup aloft. The striking combination of polished metal and natural stones reflects the Castillo family's legacy in elevating traditional Mexican craftsmanship to international design prominence.
Marked (faint) on the base: “Los Castillo / Taxco / Plateado.” A rare decorative object blending spiritual symbolism with the refined techniques of mid-20th-century Mexican silver artistry.

Local pickup is welcomed, please call in advance to setup an appointment and ensure the items are paid for before picking up. For out of state buyers we can provide shipping quotes or provide a list of shippers, we do not pack anything ourselves but we can drop off the pieces to a shipping store such as UPS or FedEx and arrange shipping with freight companies such as Plycon, Craters & Freighters, Tramo, Cube, and others.
