- Lot Description
Striking covered bowl by the renowned Los Castillo workshop, crafted in silver-plated metal and inlaid with a vibrant mosaic of malachite and lapis lazuli. This rounded vessel features a bold, scalloped design encircling the lower body and a contrasting band of geometric gemstone inlay near the rim, capped with a domed silver lid and finial.
Marked “Los Castillo / Taxco / Hecho en Mexico / Plateado / TA-01”, this piece exemplifies the fine materials and playful modernist geometry for which the Taxco-based workshop is celebrated. The rich green and deep blue tones of the inlay highlight the bold contours of the form, adding both visual texture and artisanal value.
A collectible piece of Mexican decorative art, ideal for connoisseurs of mid-century silver, natural stone inlay, and the work of Los Castillo—one of the most influential design houses in 20th-century Mexican craftsmanship.

Local pickup is welcomed, please call in advance to setup an appointment and ensure the items are paid for before picking up. For out of state buyers we can provide shipping quotes or provide a list of shippers, we do not pack anything ourselves but we can drop off the pieces to a shipping store such as UPS or FedEx and arrange shipping with freight companies such as Plycon, Craters & Freighters, Tramo, Cube, and others.
