- Lot Description
A sculptural mid-century Mexican modernist tray attributed to renowned designer Salvador Terán (Taxco, active mid-20th century). Crafted from hand-hammered brass, the elongated tray features a raised, asymmetrical handle and an inlaid mosaic panel composed of textured glass tesserae in tones of turquoise blue, golden ochre, and earth brown. The stylized abstract design resembles a ceremonial figure or torch, echoing pre-Columbian influences often seen in Terán’s work.

Origin: Mexico, circa 1950s
Dimensions: 21" L × 7.75" W × 1" H
Condition: Very good vintage condition with expected surface wear and patina; small dings and slight warping consistent with age (see images).
A beautiful and rare example of mid-century Mexican decorative art, ideal for collectors of Taxco metalwork, Salvador Terán, or modernist design.

Local pickup is welcomed, please call in advance to setup an appointment and ensure the items are paid for before picking up. For out of state buyers we can provide shipping quotes or provide a list of shippers, we do not pack anything ourselves but we can drop off the pieces to a shipping store such as UPS or FedEx and arrange shipping with freight companies such as Plycon, Craters & Freighters, Tramo, Cube, and others.
