- Lot Description
Ladies' 21K yellow gold Etruscan Revival fibula Ram's Head brooch, archaeological style, consisting of an engraved ram's head with curved horns, shaped neck and pin enclosure with scrolled designs, and a fibula or bow arch with scrolling wire and bead designs. Unmarked but housed in the original fitted case that partially reads "AGOSTINO BONI, GIOIELLIERE, ROMA". The brooch is XRF tested to confirm 21K gold composition and measures 3 1/2 in. x 1 1/4 in. It weighs 17.41 grams. Note: Agostino Boni was listed as a jeweler at the 1888 Italian Exhibition in London. According to Italian silversmiths' listings, his company was founded in 1859.
