- Lot Description
Three (3) Spanish Colonial carved and polychrome Santos figures, including a standing Holy Virgin made of wood, having cloth sleeves attached with rose head nails, atop a painted square base; 1 seated Holy Virgin with chair, wood and papier mache, atop a square base; and 1 early (possibly Baroque period) carved wood figure, lacking paint. Heights range from 5 in to 12 1/2 in. 19th century and earlier.
Condition
All items with considerable surface and paint wear. Standing virgin's head repaired at neck, scattered pest damage and shrinkage cracks, area of loss to base; Seated virgin lacking both hands and 1 foot; unpainted figure with losses to arms, nose and side of head, hanging ring added.
