- Lot Description
Five (5) Asian carved figural items, including one (1) Chinese jade ram on rectangular stand with raised hoof having incised geometric decoration throughout; one (1) Chinese soapstone figure representing Shou Xing, the Chinese god of longevity depicted with a conical elongated head, holding a staff and pumpkin gourd; together with a separate naturalist base (shown separately in the photos); one (1) Chinese hardstone figural seal with a seated cow on a rectangular stand finial; one (1) Chinese soapstone standing figure of a man attired in a robe; and one (1) Japanese Tagua Nut Netsuke in the form of a lizard or frog on a base, hand painted with vegetable dyes. Ranging in size from 2" H x 1" W x 1 1/4" D to 5" H x 3 1/2" W x 3 1/2" D. All items Mid-19th-Early 20th C.
Condition
Longevity figure with minor chip to shoulder and bottom edge, seal with surface abrasion to underside.
