- Lot Description
Five (5) George Ayers Cress (American/Tennessee, 1921-2008) abstract monochromatic watercolor paintings including three (3) on paper, one (1) on paper board, and one (1) on paper laid to board. Three signed and dated 1952, 1965, and 1973. The painting laid to board is titled "Copperhill' en verso. The painting on paper board is titled "Wave Study" en verso, with title struck out. All with museum accession numbers in pencil en verso. All unframed. Overall dimensions range from 11" x 14" to 16 3/4" x 23 1/2".
PROVENANCE: Property of the Hunter Museum of American Art.
Condition
Overall good condition. Some pieces with light toning. One with pinhole punctures to corners.
