- Lot Description
Five (5) Tennessee Valley Authority USGS quadrangle topographic map books, circa 1935-1950. 1st-4th items: Various Southern cities and counties including areas in and around Knoxville, Nashville, and Chattanooga, TN, as well as Asheville, Cherokee, Highlands, and Cashiers, North Carolina, and Paducah, Kentucky. Also includes maps of areas in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Missouri, and Louisiana. With locations of ridges, mountains, bodies of water and other geological features plus churches, cemeteries, swimming pools, country clubs, gas stations, etc. 5th item: entitled "Topographical Mapping for the War Department," 1942, documenting areas in New York State. Bound in original cardstock covers. Three larger books measure 27 1/2" H x 23" W. Two smaller books measure 22 1/2" H x 17 1/2" W.
Condition
Maps with some warping plus toning and some minor tears to edges. Cardstock covers with creasing, abrasions, and losses including one with missing backing.
