- Lot Description
Alfonso Grosso (Spain, 1893-1983) oil on canvas painting titled "Sevilla" depicting a busy street in downtown Seville, Spain lined with shops and businesses having figures, including two nuns, traversing in different directions underneath sunshades draped overhead. The painting features bright colors and a unique contrasting light technique in which the areas exposed to sunlight are rendered in a heavier impasto than the areas in shadow. Signed "A. Grosse" and titled "Sevilla" lower right. Housed in a giltwood frame with a linen liner. Sight: 34 1/2" H x 24 1/2" W. Framed: 42 1/2" H x 32 1/2" W.
Condition
The painting is in overall very good condition. Frame with slight gilt losses to corners.
