- Lot Description
Item 1: Continental school oil on canvas landscape painting with a mill and cow by a river in a mountainous landscape. Unsigned. With Chattanooga Art Association and Hunter Museum of Art stickers affixed to backing. Housed in a giltwood frame. Sight: 17" H x 23" W. Framed: 21 7/8" H x 27 3/4" W. Late 19th or early 20th c. Item 2: Lithograph after Angelica Kauffmann (1741-1807) titled Cupid Binding Aglaia to a Laurel. Housed in an oval mat board and gilt wood frame. Sight: 19" H x 23 1/2" W. Framed: 28 1/2" H x 33" W. Likely 19th c.
Condition
1st item with scattered abrasions and tears, largest 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" tear without loss to lower right, to right of base of tree. 2nd item has been adhered to the mat. Small tear to lower margin of mat, approx. 1" L.
