Donald Earley (American/West Virginia, 20th-21st centuries), two framed etchings including "Perfume," AP, signed in pencil lower right and dated 12-17, Sight 14 1/4 in. H x 10 3/4 W, Framed 26 in. H x 20 1/2 in. W, and "Study of Water," #2/27, signed in pencil and dated 99, Sight 5 in. H x 3 1/2 in. W, Frame 15 1/2 in. H x 14 in. W. Together with the original metal etching plate for "Perfume", 12 1/2 in. H x 9 in. W. Biography: Educated at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York as a fashion illustrator, artist and educator, Earley’s skills include painting, drawing, etching, drypoint, lithography and sculpture works in glass and bronze. Earley began working as an illustrator in the 1970’s for companies such as Neiman Marcus and the Dayton Company. He is also an accomplished educator having taught at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Cooper School of Art in Cleveland and at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond before moving to Qatar to help develop the thriving B.F.A. in Fashion Design course. Currently, he is an assistant professor of Communication Arts and Design at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. His commissions include the New York Times, Vogue Patterns, Calvin Klein, Damon Shirts, Bill Blass and Yves St. Laurent. As a practicing artist, Donald has exhibited extensively across the UK and the United States. (Source: The Tennessee Arts Commission).
