- Lot Description
Eagle head cavalry sword or saber with engraved gilt and blued foliate decoration to the blade; brass hilt with carved bone handle, fitted with a brass-mounted leather scabbard. Blade: 30" L. Overall: 35 1/2" L. First half 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
Condition
Scattered oxidation, nicks, pitting to blade. Ferrule and pommel slightly loose. Scabbard with open seam and dents, pitting to brass.
