- Lot Description
J. Barry Greene (New York/California/Paris, 1895-1966) oil on canvas domestic interior painting of a maid who prepares a table for tea service. Thickly-painted afternoon sunlight streams into the room through a window and illuminates the scene. Signed lower right and additionally signed en verso. With 1964 Santa Cruz Art League 34th Annual Exhibition label signed by the artist affixed to back of stretcher. Housed in a painted wood frame with brass nameplate. Sight: 25" H x 22" W. Framed: 31 1/2" H x 28 1/2" W.
Condition
Overall very good condition, with slight waviness to canvas. 4" x 3/4" area of retouching to lower right corner below signature. Not examined outside of frame. Frame with abrasions and paint loss.
