- Lot Description
Herb Williams (Alabama/Tennessee, b. 1973) small Crayon Art Flag and Owl Sculpture. 1st item: Hollow papier mache sculpture of an owl, the body made from sheet music and mounted with a carved wood beak, supported on twisted wire feet and mounted to a base made from an old .45 record, signed "Herb" in paint on the surface of the record.18 in. H x 10 in. W x 11 in. D. 2nd item: Image of a Flag made from cut and solid crayons, adhered to a piece of beige handmade paper and mounted to a black framed mat. Signed "Herb" lower right. Overall frame: 9 in.W x 7 in. H. Note: Alabama born artist Herb Williams now lives and works in Nashville. His crayon sculptures have brought him worldwide acclaim and are in numerous private and public collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He received the Joan Mitchell Foundation Museum Purchase Grant in 2004 and the Next Star Artist Award in 2008.
Condition
Both items excellent condition. Owl is hollow and extremely fragile.

Payment must be received no later than five (5) days after the sale.
Unless you are a known customer of Case Auctions, payment for all gold, precious metal, and gem lots must be made by bank wire transfer, ACH, certified bank check, or money order. No exceptions.
If you pick up your lots from any of our galleries, Tennessee state sales tax will apply. Sales tax will only be waived if you provide a valid resale certificate from your state of residence.
If paying with a credit card, a 3.5% credit card processing fee will be applied to the final sales price (i.e. hammer price + buyer's premium + applicable taxes). If you have a credit card on file with Case, any winning bids will be automatically charged (up to $3000) along with applicable fees 72 hours after you receive your invoice unless other arrangements have been made.
